About Alio
Alio is one of Canada's most respected travel wholesalers.
Founded in 1981, Tours New York Inc. now doing business under the trading name of Alio, started as a specialist in motor coach tours operating from Montréal doing tours to, you guessed it, New York City.
In the early years, Alio offered Quebec agencies a complete range of products for the Big Apple including hotel nights as well as packages including flights with Air Canada and American Airlines. We still do New York City tours in a big way today. Read more here.
Since 1997, the travel industry has changed dramatically: the line of products has been growing, the distribution channels evolving, new technologies have been introduced. All of these elements motivated Alio and Aventours, an Ottawa based wholesaler to merge in November 2000 in order to better serve travel agents across Canada.
Today, Alio offers destinations other than New York City and now sells a complete range of travel products covering the whole world, starting with Canada, Florida, Las Vegas, the Caribbean, South America, the South Pacific and everywhere else.

Alio is in Canada, which is important.
Alio has real offices in Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver where we have employees working to serve our clients. Why is this important?
Quite a few online agencies that offer cheap travel services in Canada to travellers don't have any offices or people working in Canada. That means they are not registered in any province and the traveller purchasing tickets from them is not protected for end supplier failure. This is the worst that can happen. Also, these agencies probably have very little support staff and when something goes wrong, you may be left on your own, trying to reach someone in whatever country.
